While the entire world has been impacted by COVID-19, the work of Susan G. Komen remains strong. We recently hosted a Donor Town Hall featuring Komen’s Chief Scientific Advisors, Dr. Jennifer Pietenpol and Dr. George Sledge, which highlighted the current state of breast cancer research and how progress has been impacted by the global pandemic.
Together, they noted that while research labs were put on hiatus early in the pandemic, most are getting back at varying levels. They also highlighted several recent breakthroughs made by Komen-funded scientists and advances on the horizon that promise to have a major impact on our ability to better detect, prevent and treat breast cancer.
None of this work would be possible without our generous donors, partners, fundraisers and volunteers. Thank you to everyone who is helping drive the change that will help achieve our shared vision — a world without breast cancer.
