Breast Cancer Risk Factors: IGF-1 Hormone Levels
Insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1) is a natural hormone that plays a role in growth and development.
Studies show women with higher levels of IGF-1 in their blood may have a higher risk of breast cancer than women with lower levels of IGF-1 [70,251-253].
Measures of blood levels of IGF-1 may one day help estimate breast cancer risk.
