Susan G. Komen®, the world’s leading breast cancer organization, today announced that it will hold a MORE THAN PINK Walk in Buffalo, NY this fall. The Walk is once again returning to Buffalo Riverworks.
“We are excited to welcome Walk participants in person this year and grateful for the opportunity to provide a community for anyone who has been impacted by breast cancer. Whether you are in treatment, celebrating survivorship, or a family member, friend or loved one, we hope you will join us in October and be part of our collective efforts to end breast cancer forever,” said Elizabeth Webster, Development Manager of Upstate New York at Susan G. Komen.
“We welcome all the members of our breast cancer community honoring friends, family and anyone who has been impacted by the disease,” Webster said. “The MORE THAN PINK Walk is about making progress toward curing breast cancer and money raised from participants and through community sponsorships will give more individuals who have been impacted by the disease access to resources and the support they need now.”
Every month more than 2,000 people from Western New York reach out to Susan G. Komenfor breast cancer information, patient navigation, emotional support, clinical trials, and information about Komen’s Financial Assistance Program — which provides financial assistance to individuals going through treatment.
The MORE THAN PINK Walk will take place on Saturday, October 1. This year, we are excited to honor our Survivors and Thrivers with a Pathway to Hope during our opening ceremony.
The Power of ONE Week – a week’s worth of events to honor those who have been impacted by breast cancer – will precede the Walk on Oct. 1. A schedule of in-person and virtual events and additional details will be announced soon.
