RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, NC – Susan G. Komen®, the world’s leading breast cancer organization, will hold the 28th Race for the Cure on Saturday, May 4 at Boxyard at Research Triangle Park. The Race raises critical funds to advance Komen’s mission and provide support to people facing breast cancer now.

This year’s Race is not just an event; it’s a pivotal moment to secure vital funds, that will make better treatments and equitable care available for all. In North Carolina, 11,190 women are estimated to be diagnosed with breast cancer in 2024 and 1,450 will die of the disease. Participants can expect to enjoy the following at the Race:
- Hope Village, a place for survivors and those living with metastatic breast cancer to gather, sponsored by UNC Health
- Recognition of survivors during Opening Ceremony
- Refreshments available at the Finish Line
Following the Race, food and drinks will be available for purchase at the Boxyard.
