Madison’s first in-person walk in two years will honor the breast cancer community
Susan G. Komen®, the world’s leading breast cancer organization, today announced that it will hold a MORE THAN PINK Walk in South Central Wisconsin on Sunday, August 28, 2022. After going virtual for the past two years the Walk will be held in-person at Willow Island at Alliant Energy Center and proceeds will advance Komen’s mission, fund groundbreaking research, and provide direct support to people facing breast cancer.
“We are excited to welcome Walk participants in person this year and grateful for the opportunity to provide a community for anyone who has been impacted by breast cancer. Whether you are in treatment, celebrating survivorship, or a family member, friend or loved one, we hope you will join us in August and be part of our collective efforts to end breast cancer forever,” said Nikki Panico, breast cancer survivor and Executive Director of Wisconsin at Susan G. Komen.
The MORE THAN PINK Walk will take place on Sunday, August 28, 2022. This year’s event will be back in person to support breast cancer patients and their families in our community. We will also offer a virtual Walk experience for those that feel more comfortable selecting that participation option. It is our goal to be as inclusive as possible to all in South Central Wisconsin.
The Power of ONE Week – a week’s worth of events to honor those who have been impacted by breast cancer – will precede the Walk on August 21. A schedule of in-person and virtual events and additional details will be announced soon.
