Susan G. Komen®, the world’s leading breast cancer organization, today announced that it will hold the 25th Anniversary Komen Chicago Race for the Cure this fall on Saturday, October 29, 2022. The Race will be held at Soldier Field and proceeds will advance Komen’s mission, fund groundbreaking research, and provide direct support to people facing breast cancer.
“We are excited to welcome Race participants in person this year and grateful for the opportunity to provide a community for anyone who has been impacted by breast cancer. Whether you are in treatment, celebrating survivorship, living with metastatic breast cancer or a family member, friend or loved one, we hope you will join us on October 29th and be part of our collective efforts to end breast cancer forever,” said Beth White Carona, Executive Director, Chicago, at Susan G. Komen.
The 25th Anniversary of the Komen Chicago Race for the Cure marks the return to a live event after two years of virtual gatherings. To commemorate the 25th Anniversary, a Chicago-style interactive program featuring a performance by the Jesse White Tumblers and live music by Chicago Blues band, Louie Zagoras and Rollover, is planned.
All members of the breast cancer community honoring friends, family and anyone who has been impacted by the disease are encouraged to participate. The Komen Chicago Race for the Cure is about making an impact toward curing breast cancer. The funds raised through registrations, participant fundraising, and sponsorships will give more individuals who have been impacted by the disease access to resources and the support they need now.”
The Power of ONE Week – a week’s worth of events to honor those who have been impacted by breast cancer – will precede the Race from October 24 – 28, 2022. A schedule of in-person and virtual events and additional details will be announced soon. There will continue to be a virtual component of the Race for those who cannot be at Soldier Field on October 29.
