What began as Nancy G. Brinker’s promise to her dying sister, Suzy Komen, to do all she could to end breast cancer forever, has become a mission to save lives by supporting patients and survivors, and ultimately curing breast cancer.

In addition to a nearly $1 billion investment in grants funding key research breakthroughs, Komen’s efforts have influenced advancements in breast cancer research, education, screening, and treatment. And dedicated volunteers have advanced state and federal advocacy efforts, giving a voice to the powerless, and broadening access to care among the underserved.

Our crusade has provided breast cancer education, screening and treatment to millions of women and men through our support of community programs across the country, with more than $2.1 billion invested to date.
