Diane Malone is a retired nurse and 10-year breast cancer survivor who has faithfully volunteered with the Komen Dallas County Affiliate and the Komen Dallas Race for the Cure® for numerous years. Diane works without ceasing behind the scenes, preferring not to be in the spotlight.

For Diane, no task is too big or too small and she tirelessly and faithfully does whatever is needed to get the job done, as her serving spirit knows no bounds. Her dedication to the cause and her pleasant demeanor are a breath of fresh air to all who work with her, and Diane is rarely seen without a huge smile on her face.

She currently resides in a local retirement facility and, although she does not drive, she diligently schedules a weekly appointment to be driven to the Dallas Affiliate office for her volunteer services. Diane has two daughters and six grandkids: Alton (3 months old), Evelyn and Grace (10 months old), Ellis and Cathrine (3 years old), and Dorothea (5 years old). Yes, she is blessed with two sets of twin grandbabies! Diane loves to visit and play with her grandkids. And this proud grandmother will regale you for hours with stories of her beloved grandkids.

This year Diane will be participating with her daughter in the Breast Cancer 3-Day to be held in Dallas. She has already surpassed her donation goal, but true to character, she has not slowed her fund-raising activities. As further testament to her dedication, she trains daily for the event. Besides volunteering for Komen and doting on her grandkids, Diane loves to travel, walk her dog “Riker” and eat cookies— YUM! The Komen Dallas County Affiliate salutes our wonderful volunteer, Diane Malone.
