Hope Lipscomb
Survivor
I found a lump in January 2015 at the age of 39. Over the next 2 weeks, I had a mammogram and ultrasound which confirmed my diagnosis is stage 3 invasive ductal carcinoma which had spread to 4 lymph nodes. I had a lumpectomy and lymph node dissection and placement of a port a cath. I had 6 treatments of chemotherapy which I completed the end of June and 30 radiation treatments which I finished September 11, 2015. This has been the hardest year of my life but my faith in God and the overwhelming amount of prayers has got me through each day. I was able to work through it all which I am blessed for. When I was first diagnosed I remember trying to look at it long term which was very frightening. I realized I had to take it one day at a time and let God carry me through it all. And He did! I am a survivor! I stayed strong and positive and I can honestly say I am a better person because of my experience!
