My husband and I just welcomed our baby girl, Mya into the world which made our family complete since we already had a son, Darius who was 7 yrs old at the time and 3 weeks after she was born I felt a lump in my left breast. I went to my doctor for my post op and he told me that it was just a swollen milk gland. When it didn’t go away after 1 month, I went back and he ordered an ultrasound. From thag ultrasound appointment everything went so fast and before I knew it….I was having a biopsy and was called the next day which was January 3, 2014 and was told that I had Triple Negative Breast Cancer, stage 2 invasive ductal carcinoma. I received 3 drugs (TAC) every 3 weeks equaling 6 rounds of chemo, followed by a lumpectomy and then 33 radiation treatments. I have a breast Mri every June and 3d mammogram every December. Those 2 appts are followed up with my breast specialist. I also, see my oncologist every 3 months. My Faith gives me strength. I had a wonderful support group and would like to say to everyone my motto “One Day at a Time”!
