Early Detection Saves Lives

Early this year, I was diagnosed with Triple Negative Breast Cancer. I was in total shocked, confused and numb! I had no symptoms and I admit, I hadn’t had a mammogram in about 4 years. My tumor was 1.5 cm, Stage 1, aggressive. I had to have 16 rounds of chemotherapy. I was so afraid because I thought chemotherapy was the worse thing. Thankfully, my side effects were very mild. After completing chemotherapy, I chose to have a bilateral mastectomy. I am now recovering and I am so thankful for my oncologist and surgeon. My advice to anyone battling this sickness is to fight, stay in prayer and surround yourself with a good support system. You don’t have to go through this alone.
